One for All

The American Reunion brings in the girl named Kara, who is entering her adulthood Kara, still having a crush on Jim, who was her babysitter years ago. She dreams of her first man, but Jim is too close to resist his older charm. The second one is the total opposite called sexy Mia, which wouldn’t mind an orgy withgood people. The role feels comfortable for her, regarding her top positions in the beauty ranings of the leading men’s magazines of the world.

Mia is just the perfect match for Ron, lacking some crazy fun in his sex life. The Oz’s girlfriend could easily help him to relax, while her current boyfriend still feels something for Heather, who is much more conservative. As always, the main actions are carried out by Stifler, who is equally good at causing trouble to his friends or helping them out in difficult times. Moreover, all his internal world has not evolved, what leads to the abundance of cultural contradictions, he encounters in the plot. All of these characters could have a lot of fun, if they travel to Europe. It might not be an original twist for the script, but these characters could show even more surprise, when leaving their natural US-based habitat.

Jim’s unintentional fascination with Kara in the American Reunion comedy goes up to his conflict with the guy of Kara’s age named AJ and played here by Chuck Hittinger. Another newbie is Selena, a previously unknown girl from the band camp, who after the school has changed her life a lot turning into a handsome girl, which makes Finch easily fall for her. Here Selena is presented by the actress Dania Ramirez, and that is a nice choice for Finch lacking a former loved one. Though he has got a mother, and you will see her for the first time making a predictable revenge payback for one man of the company.

The screenplay of this new become brings up much more adult themes in terms of relationships. They will surely be familiar to a wide audience ranging from 16+ to 30+ years. Despite a harsh R rating in the western countries, here some Russian cinemas made ready a milder 16+ or 17+ with parents guidance recommendation rating. However, in this country this age rating has earned a more recommending reputation, what will hardly stop the true American Pie fans from going to the movies. To their own risk they can invite their older parents, which might be dissatisfied with some episodes that weren’t usually shown in theaters in their times of their past. There even were some scenes in the official Trailer, which got cut out during the Post-Production. We predict them being relesed in the full Director’s Cut version straight to the DVDs for the Video on Demand market.

The plot of the American Reunion is very natural, when trying to make you laugh. Though in several scenes the filmmakers don’t cross the crazy fun line telling the audience that these characters aren’t 20 years old anymore, and can be afraid of doing something that might sound unusual for adults. At the final party there are many cool moments, yet it is impossible not to notice the movie reaching the Melodramatic context here. At the same time the office part with punishing the evil boss is underdeveloped. Instead of a memorable prank in the Stifler’s style we listen to a mature and philosophical conversation between him and his superior, what isn’t like Steve’s usual behavior at all.
