Talented Liam Neeson got united with well-known French director Olivier Megaton to present the movie in Moscow this autumn. On the 14th of September, 2012 they both spend one Friday in Russia ending with a gala dinner. Busy schedule did not allow them to find time for the Press Conference, but they both managed to take part in various Interviews. Liam Neeson turned 60 years old in summer, but he is still capable of starring in action flicks.
This year Liam Neeson regularly appeared in several big and not so big budget films pleasing his fans with the top-notch performance. The dedicated moviegoers surely remember The Grey (2012) survival thriller as well as as the Fantasy adventures in the Wrath of the Titans (2012) film, and other cool cameos in Battleship (2012) and The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Two last ones didn’t provide him with a substantial part, though it was vital for the story of these blockbusters. The very first Taken (2008) made him co-star with Maggie Grace, who plays the daughter Kim once again in the sequel Taken 2.
In the latest thriller Unknown (2011) and Action Comedy title The A-Team (2010) famous actor Liam Neeson demonstated his ability to get out of any difficult situations. The Photo Call with the stars was delayed in Moscow nearly by half an hour, but Liam Neeson showed an impressive entry jumping on a pole and trying to dance. The VIP-guests with Olivier Megaton spent time watching Moscow from the Ritz-Carlton (Tverskaya str., 3) roof, and then both willingly posed after which they had to sign autographs for the photographers crowd, which quickly surrounded mainly the actor from all sides as soon as the Photo Shoot finished.
Near the «October» (Noviy Arbat, 24) cinema, where the Film Premiere was scheduled for the evening, the fans started to gather early. They were lucky this day, because Liam Neeson and Olivier Megaton were in good spiritis willing to satisfy their hunger for celebrities. Though they both looked rather tired. Liam Neeson was signing postcards, DVD cases, posters and so on, and even in the Photo Shoot Premiere area the photographers one more time forgot about their duties trying to him sign their media badges. Foreign event managers and agents were all very surprised to find out that Russian journalists turn into Russian fans, when they feel like. That was the case with the Taken 2 Moscow Premiere.
It’d be impossibe to say that main stars were ready for the third entry to the series, but later on just that announcement happened. The Moscow Premiere of Taken 2 started with a delay as well. Liam Neeson spend the first minutes near the entrance signing everything he could see around. Together with director Olivier Megaton they were making the fans excited. They were moving together along the Red Carpet, but later on split to give some TV Interviews. So the main part of the event took place at the October’s cinema theater lobby.
Here we present the Taken 2 Moscow Premiere in our extended Video version, where you will see all the hype with the autograph session both on the roof and in, around the lobby. Liam Neeson didn’t stop signing stuff even, when he was descending from the main stage after the welcoming speech. By the way, a little earlier director Olivier Megaton gave a few tips for aspring directors, and these moments ended up in our Video Report as well.
Some fans already found themselves and our Video, according to the feedback we get. Photos might appear here later on. Meanwhile, the popular Russian DJs invited both Liam Neeson and Olivier Megaton to the stage to say a few words. There was a funny moment with the translator, who didn’t get one important line. At first Liam Neeson admitted he had a great stunt double, but useless, since he was doing stunts mainly by himself. Then Olivier Megaton tried to correct himself, but confirmed that adding that only the love scenes were the ones Liam Neeson didn’t want to take a part in personally, because he is a dedicated family man.
The interpreter got confused with that and translated it like the loves scenes were the only ones, where the actor didn’t need any stunt doubles. Can you believe that? We couldn’t, unless we heard that rocking out in Russian to the crowd. Anyway, all of this and everything else can already be seen in our Taken 2 Film Premiere Video we bring to you from Moscow, where we combined all the great parts of the Liam Neeson and Olivier Megaton visit to Russia in September, 2012.
