In this film brought by Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures studios a young boy named Ted (Zac Efron) has to admit that his hometown Thneed-Ville isn’t everything this world has to offer. He falls in love with a girl-next-door known as Audrey (Taylor Swift), what leads him to searching for real trees, which no longer exist in the metropolis, where all the air is distributed by a greedy tycoon – Mr. O’Hare (Rob Riggle).

He wouldn’t like the trees coming back, since the natural photosynthesis can ruin his business of sold oxygeg. However, Ted isn’t scared, so he goes to the lone habitant of a former magical valley named The Once-ler (Ed Helms). Their this character suffers because of all the bad things rushing for the profit. The old man remembers him sacrificing many dear things in the past. Now he only has to wait for a young hero to appear, who could help him to fix some previous mistakes.

Ted from the story of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is only 12 years old, so he needs to consider the needs of his own family. Here a strict mother named Ted’s Mom and voiced over by Jenny Slate has yet to decide, what is more important for her relatives. However, Grammy Norma speaking as Betty White tends to support the boy. One of the main characters here is the forest guard known as ghe Lorax. He wears a moustache, shows some fair play, and also his orange color.

The Lorax was voiced over by Danny DeVito, while the animated picture itself is based on a novel by a popular American writer, poet, cartoonist often submitting his words under the nickname Dr. Seuss (1904-1991). Meanwhile, his real name is Theodor Seuss Geisel. In particular, the original story of The Lorax (1971) was published a few decades ago focusing on vital environmental issues. The new animated feature film is also notable for the fact that Danny DeVito has learnt Russian specifically to speak for Lorax in the native language for the Russian market. For western movie projects coming to Russia this is a truly unique precedent.
