The official HD-trailer for the new animated film - Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted (2012). The third episode continues the animated adventures with the charachters of the Madagascar (2005-2012) trilogy. The 3D-title comes from DreamWorks Animation, Pacific Data Images and Paramount Pictures studios offering you to join in for an exciting European trip. Lion Alex (Ben Stiller) wants to return to his native New York zoo, but the penguins Skipper (Tom McGrath), Kowalski (Chris Miller), Rico (John DiMaggio) and Private (Christopher Knights) have hijacked the last plane flying to Monte Carlo to enjoy gambling alongside domesticated chimpanzee, led by Mason (Conrad Vernon) and voiceless Phil.
The company creates an image of The King of Versailles to represent their interests on behalf of a human person. Meanwhile, Alex and his best friends, zebra Marty (Chris Rock), hippopotamus Gloria (Jada Pinkett Smith) and always scared giraffe Melman (David Schwimmer) are looking for a way to get to America, bored by their lives in Africa, where they arrived in the sequel. Everywhere they are followed by a nasty King Julian XIII (Sacha Baron Cohen), along with his usual retinue – the court advisor Maurice (Cedric the Entertainer) and the fluffy creature Mort (Andy Richter). All the heroes will tour around Europe, when visiting Monaco, Rome and London to win the precious tickets home.
A similar trip around the world was undertaken by the characters of the Cars 2 (2011) animated film last year. However, this time the Madagascarian crowd will also meet new friends from the team of the Zaragoza Circus. Here Alex might fall in love with charming cheetess Gia (Jessica Chastain), easy-going sea lion Stefano (Martin Short) will befriend Marty, Russian tiger named Vitaly (Bryan Cranston) gets addicted to borsch and one glamorous horse known as Carmen (Paz Vega), while not counting the abundance of other animal sounds recorded by Frank Welker. Alex in Madagascar 3 is hunted by the chief animal control inspector of Monaco – Captain Chantel Dubois (Frances McDormand), who is looking for a lion’s head to decorate her wall filled with stuffed animals.
With a budget of 145 mln. USD and all the ultramodern 3D-effects the DreamWorks animators have spent nearly four years making the return of the heroes to the big screen. The script was written by the director Eric Darnell and Noah Baumbach. The directors’ department also included Tom McGrath, a veteran of the series, and the rise up of a former Madagascar franchise creative consultant. Conrad Vernon from the USA supplemented the directors’ trio. However, both Tom McGrath and Conrad Vernon have not cheated on their habits and also voiced minor characters once again.
An experienced producer of the trilogy, Mireille Soria, helped Mark Swift with all the managerial duties. The soundtrack of Madagascar 3 was composed by legendary Hans Zimmer, although his themes got dissolved in the stream of modern pop and electronic music, which also includes cover versions of famous songs. A lot of attention the scriptwriters has paid to the circus performances, making their animals show incredible stunts to the delight of the audience. In 3D this looks quite bright and fresh, while trying to compete with the stylistics of famous Cirque du Soleil. The Russian version of the film is voiced over by local celebrities and TV stars, just as it happened with the previous episodes.
Running Time: 2 minutes and 31 seconds.
